Before the ASP was formed, SWAT training throughout the state was similar, but not consistent. Teams had difficulty training together, much less working on tactical problems together, due to differences in training theory, techniques, and application. The Association of SWAT Personnel formed in an effort to bring continuity and consistency in training to tactical teams in the state. Today, over 1200 members can take advantage of:
1. Organized training opportunities for tactical teams all over the state
2. Training at a minimal cost to each agency
3. Programs that bridge the agency gap with commonality
4. Opportunities for custom training
We hope this web site offers teams another means of achieving the goals of continuity and consistency.
